If you are a senior citizen you may be wondering about the common expenses that comes with living in senior mobile home parks. It is a good idea to gain an understanding of these common expenses before moving into one of these parks to make sure that you can budget accordingly. The most common expenses are:

  • Rent:  You will have to pay rent on the spot where the mobile home is parked, if you own your own home. If you don't own the home, you will have to pay rent on the home itself and the lot.
  • Insurance:  You should get insurance whether you own or rent your home.
  • General upkeep:  There are bound to be maintenance problems.  if you own your own mobile home, you will have to  pay to get these fixed.
  • Basic utilities:  Even though you may be renting the mobile home itself, you will still more than likely have to pay for your basic utilities such as electricity, phone and cable. The price of water and trash may be included with your rent payment.
  • Laundry costs:  If you do not have a washer and dryer within your mobile home, you may have to pay to have your laundry done.
