Responding to Moving Company Damages to Furniture

When you hire a moving company, there is always a chance that something could be damaged. How you choose to respond to this damage can go a long way towards actually fixing the problem. Here are a few tips on responding to moving company damages to furniture.

Be Calm

Do not let your temper get the best of you. Many people notice the smallest dent in a piece of furniture and start yelling at someone that works for the moving company. While it might make you feel better immediately, it is not the best way to handle the situation. There is a good chance that they will not help you if you berate them. Be as calm as possible and try and discuss the situation reasonably.

Offer Proof

Many times, the moving company will argue that they did not damage the piece of furniture. If you can offer any proof, the conflict may come to a resolution faster. Before you go through a move, take pictures of every piece of furniture that they will touch. This way you can show them that it was damaged during the moving process.
