Landlords: Move-Out Inspection

Landlords have a variety of responsibilities when it comes to working with tenants. One responsibility that they have is to handle the move-out inspection with their tenant. Here are a few things to consider about conducting a move-out inspection.

Move-Out Inspection

The move-out inspection is a process that you can go through in the presence of your tenant. If done correctly, you will be able to avoid a lot of the potential problems that often come up between tenant and landlord. During this process, you will want to make sure that you have an inspection form. Most of the time, you should have completed one of these whenever a tenant moved into the property. This way, you will be able to see if there are any changes in the condition of the property from when they originally moved in up until this point.

Completing the Inspection

You need to go over every inch of the rental unit. Make sure that you take note of any damages that you can see during this inspection. If you see damage, be sure to point it out to your tenant. This way, there will not be any discrepancies whenever the issue of the security deposit is brought up.
