If you want to negotiate like a real estate pro, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. There are many times in the real estate business that you will need to negotiate. Anytime you are buying or selling a piece of property, you will have to negotiate the purchase price. You will have to negotiate closing costs and possibly many other conditions. Here are a few tips to remember when you want to negotiate successfully. 

Stop Speaking

One of the best tricks in the book is to make an offer and then do not talk. Do not speak again until the other person says something. Give them a chance to respond to the first offer before you start to speak again. Many people naturally hate silence. Therefore, when they make an offer and the other person does not immediately answer, they start to detract the offer and concede more. Do not be the first one to speak after an offer has been made.

Be Persistent

Persistence is one of the most important qualities in good negotiators. A good negotiator will not give in until they get what they want. While you will have to concede some things along the way, you need to be diligent in your effort.
