How to Decide Your End of Lease Options

Assessing your end of lease options can sometimes be a little tricky. You usually have a few different options and you want to make sure that you make the right decision. If you are nearing the end of your lease or have already reached it, here are a few options that you may want to consider.

Renew Your Lease

One option that you may have is to renew your lease for another year or similar term. Ask yourself if you enjoyed the time in your current residence. Determine whether or not you were comfortable with the landlord and whether or not it met your expectations. Was the rent in line with the rest of the market? If you enjoyed your current living situation, you may want to lean towards renewing your lease for another term.

Tenancy At Will

Another option you may have is to enter into a tenancy at will arrangement. This means that you can stay on a month-to-month basis and leave whenever you want. This is done in the absence of a lease.

Leave

Your other option is to pack up and leave. If you did not enjoy your time in your present accommodations, it may be in your best interest to find a new place to live.
