When you buy a villa abroad, you will buy into a subdivision or development with other vacation homes around it. These fees allow you to be part of the homeowners association in your subdivision and remain in good standing. 

Association fees can vary and can increase, depending on the economy and the other buyers in the area. Association dues are typically split up between the owners of a subdivision. It is important to note that if there are 30 owners, the cost will be lower than if there are only 5.

2. Upkeep
