The Value Line Index is a stock index based on 1700 companies chosen by Value Line. Another common name for this is the "Value Line Investment Survey." The companies that make up the Value Line Index come from many different stock indexes, including the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. Therefore, this is a very large representation of the stock market overall and provides a good indication of how the market moves.

Equal Weight

The Value Line Index is an equally weighted index, meaning that it assigns the same value to each company in the index. This distinguishes it from many other financial indices that give more weight to larger companies.

The Value Line Index has displayed an uncanny ability to predict the market. This index is highly analyzed and typically has been proven to beat the market overall.
