What RV Trailer Insurance Covers

RV trailer insurance is commonly included when you purchase comprehensive and collision coverage for your recreational vehicle. Any utility trailers that are used along with your RV are protected under this insurance.

If your trailer is physically damaged on a trip or in an accident, your RV trailer insurance may cover the cost of repair. Depending on the extent of the damage and the extent of coverage you have, insurance will cover the repair in part or in whole. Trailer insurance that is automatically included with Comprehensive and Collision coverage typically covers only a few thousand dollars in repairs. This amount is usually between $2,000 and $3,000.

Even though RV trailer insurance may be included in your plan for coverage of a minimal amount, you may be able to purchase additional Trailer Coverage. This additional coverage can increase the amount of damage covered even up to $10,000 or $20,000 depending on your insurer.
