Filing Corporate Taxes: When is an Accountant Needed?

Corporate tax filing can be a tangled mess, but it can also sometimes be very straightforward. Most states have a corporate tax. Every state has different regulations relating to the corporate filing date, the amount taxed and the percentage that must be paid based on the business done. Because of all of the different rules and regulations that can be mandated by these states it is best to have a professional at least take a look at the returns before they are filed.

When to Do Your Own Corporate Taxes

Some companies like to do their taxes in house. In most cases these are smaller companies or larger ones with accountants on staff. If your company is only required to file in one or two states then it could be plausible for the corporate taxes to be done without error.

When to Give In

If you have gone over your corporate taxes many times and it is not making sense or you still keep getting a different number. If you filed your corporate taxes and they have been rejected due to errors. If you filed and realized you missed something and have had to have them amended. These are three reasons that you might want to give in and consult an accountant. You would not want your tangled taxes to end in a call to your corporate and business attorney to try and straighten things out with the different states involved.
