Getting a life and health insurance exam is something that nearly everyone has to go through at some point. If you have never experienced one before, the uncertainty of what to expect could be intimidating. While all life insurance medical testing is a little different, there are a few things that you can usually expect at all of them.
Medical History
The person administering your exam will always take a detailed medical history. They will ask you questions about every sickness, condition, or injury you have ever had. They will want to know all about your family's medical history as well.
Vital Signs
After the medical history, they will want to take your vital signs as well. Taking your blood pressure is an important part of the test as well as checking your pulse. They may do other tests such as checking reflexes or balance and coordination. In some cases, they will do a stress test as well. This requires you to run on a treadmill with several monitors all over your body. This is one of the least enjoyable experiences you will have to go through for the exam.
Samples
In most cases, you will be expected to give them a few samples. They will require a blood test and in some cases a urine test. They will collect the samples from you right there, so be prepared for a needle.
