Bank account transfer can be done in many ways. Whether you want to transmit funds to another type of account that you own, to another person's account, or even to someone living overseas - the process is easy. Banks are providing more options for how to do it and you can choose which is more preferable to you.
Required Account Information
Before you can execute a bank account transfer, you will need the following information:
- name of the recipient's bank
- the recipient's account name and number
- international bank code for overseas account (the SWIFT code)
Depository institutions administer almost the same bank account transfer options and processing. Here are the options and how you can do it:
- online banking service - Register and setup an online account through your bank's website. Most banks allow their clients to transfer funds using their internet banking tools. You will find easy-to-do instructions on how to do it. This method is the most convenient one.
- over the phone - If online banking is not your thing, you can call your bank's representative to do the transaction for you. They will need information both of your account and the recipient's.
- in person - Going to your local branch and doing it in person is another option, but time-consuming. You will be asked to fill-out forms with information needed and submit it to the bank's teller.
