Lists of Identity Verifications Required
All banks have the same set of standard identity verification requirements that an applicant needs to furnish with his bank account application.
- complete residential address (PO Box are not accepted)
- phone number/s
- date of birth
- social security number
- driver's license, government-issued ids (or any other identifying information)
Aside from the identity information requirements that you need to submit in a bank account application, some banks require you to deposit an initial amount. Financial institutions like Bank of America and Wells Fargo ask for $25 to $100 deposit before they activate an account. However, there are banks that do no require initial deposits. It is better that you inquire the bank first before applying.
