3 Important Considerations In A Bank Branch Design

Bank branch designs trends have been changing almost as rapidly as banking technology. Where bank branch designs used to focus on security, causing the branch itself to seem somewhat vault like, advances in banking securities now allow for more open branch designs.

The idea of the branch bank being a part of the community has never been more important. More than 80% of the sales made by a bank are made at the branch level, so innovative designs that invite consumers into the branch are critical for continued growth. Modern bank branch designs focus on openness and provide a welcoming, community feel. When a customer walks into a newer branch, it is not surprising to find a TV providing entertainment for guests in the lobby as well as kiosks with computers with Internet access that allow the customer to access his banking data from the lobby.

For efficiency and openness, offices have been replaced with paneling and open door cubicles, providing a more open, inviting atmosphere without sacrificing security. A focus on energy efficiency and green building is also much more of a consideration now than in the past, allowing for branch environmental friendliness that endears the branch to its community members.
